NSW SES Volunteers continue their roles in the community

As a result of calls from newspapers, radio stations and many concerned SES volunteers, the Chairman of the NSW SES VA would like to reiterate that SES volunteers across NSW were shocked this morning to learn of further allegations of the misuse of taxpayers’ funds, following the news of an Independent Commission Against Corruption investigation being launched in early September.

"I am not aware of any volunteers being involved in any allegations or investigations," Volunteers Association Chairman Charlie Moir said.

"While we are obviously disappointed that the front page news on the SES is not showing the great work that is done by the members no matter what happens, the thousands of men and women across the state would continue their unpaid work supporting the community during floods and storms."

Mr Moir has emphasized that the investigation does not impact the volunteers in their roles and the community can continue to rely on their local volunteers for assistance.
